Objective : To Understand how opinion is formulated and power is distributed in a capitalist structure; changing probabilities for a "fairer" society!

More information on Professor Domhoff's book may be found Here. On a constructive note, it's important to consider that the ideological hegemony model becomes obsolete as more knowledge is readily available and a more "educated" society emerges....

More to the point, if you're thinking of beating the system via becoming a professional athlete, you may want to consider the odds!

Lets consider Football, since it's the most popular high school sport in the relatively developed United States --- out of 1,000,000 senior high school football players 1/4 of 1 percent will get a college scholarship covering 75% or more of the costs. Further, out of them 1 in 1,500 college athletes will play in the NFL for an average of 2 years... if they stay on that long! Either way, like it or not, you're part of the system!
